In a months time Mabel will turn two, I know I know, where does the time go? It seems like five minutes ago I was planning her first birthday party, sequin bunting and all. Usually at this point I would have quite a few bargain clothing items that I’d picked up in prior sales stored away and ready for her transition to the next size up. But unfortunately I don’t. Apart from a couple of pinafores, Mabel has zero to wear come the end of March.

She’s already fast outgrowing her 18 -24 month items, so there’s no chance of hanging on for a few weeks whilst I get my arse into online shopping gear, the time is now folks. And I won’t deny it, I do love buying new things for my daughter, not least because of all of these cute animal print/motif pieces that are around at the moment. I’ve included some of the gorgeous things I have already bashed with my plastic and other bits and bobs that are waiting patiently in my virtual basket in this feature. You’re welcome.

Please do let me know anything you’ve purchased for Spring that I obviously need to copy in the comments box below. Enabling is actively encouraged.

John Lewis

It was this Safari Border Dress that started it all, so cute. And possibly Mabel’s last chance saloon at John Lewis “baby” wear – available from 0-3 months to 2-3 years. Make sure you follow us on instagram to be in with a chance to win this dress today!

These jersey giraffe dungarees are gorgeous, as is the Zebra print version.

And I couldn’t resist these socks, not least because there is a flamingo design…and five pairs for six quid. Don’t mind if I do.

Zara

This Toucan Sweatshirt! Love. Also the tiger T-shirt that you can just see peeking out on the image in the slider in the header. Mabel really suits yellow and this will go so well with a pair of striped grey leggings she already had that luckily are on the large side.

Boden

This knitted dress with a farmyard pattern by Boden is spendy but spectacular (plus they do all sorts of discounts if you sign up to their newsletter) and I’ve got my eye on this Summer Days Hotchpotch Dress with matching knickers for the warmer months. Boden baby clothes now go up to age four which means Lottie has been able to buy all sorts of new things for nearly 3 year old Alice. I don’t think she can decide if this a good thing or not (!)

Mothercare

I really rate Mothercare for knitwear, particularly their own brand cardigans. I also love the Little Bird By Jools range – it’s not that often you see such bright primary colours. For Mabel’s 3 days a week at nursery nothing is as hard wearing or as hot-washable as denim so these Turn Up Jeans are on my wish list to pair with this gorgeous Duck T.

Next

My go-to for multi-pack tops, vests and bottoms – excellent value and they wear well. I’ve already bought these character long-sleeved T-shirts and although not strictly animal print related, I couldn’t resist these pineapple print traveller pants. If they made them in my size I so would.

Also, even though she’ll have to grow into it because it starts at age 3……THIS.
