In a months time Mabel will turn two, I know I know, where does the time go? It seems like five minutes ago I was planning her first birthday party, sequin bunting and all. Usually at this point I would have quite a few bargain clothing items that I’d picked up in prior sales stored away and ready for her transition to the next size up. But unfortunately I don’t. Apart from a couple of pinafores, Mabel has zero to wear come the end of March.
She’s already fast outgrowing her 18 -24 month items, so there’s no chance of hanging on for a few weeks whilst I get my arse into online shopping gear, the time is now folks. And I won’t deny it, I do love buying new things for my daughter, not least because of all of these cute animal print/motif pieces that are around at the moment. I’ve included some of the gorgeous things I have already bashed with my plastic and other bits and bobs that are waiting patiently in my virtual basket in this feature. You’re welcome.
Please do let me know anything you’ve purchased for Spring that I obviously need to copy in the comments box below. Enabling is actively encouraged.
John Lewis
It was this Safari Border Dress that started it all, so cute. And possibly Mabel’s last chance saloon at John Lewis “baby” wear – available from 0-3 months to 2-3 years. Make sure you follow us on instagram to be in with a chance to win this dress today!
These jersey giraffe dungarees are gorgeous, as is the Zebra print version.
And I couldn’t resist these socks, not least because there is a flamingo design…and five pairs for six quid. Don’t mind if I do.
Zara
This Toucan Sweatshirt! Love. Also the tiger T-shirt that you can just see peeking out on the image in the slider in the header. Mabel really suits yellow and this will go so well with a pair of striped grey leggings she already had that luckily are on the large side.
Boden
This knitted dress with a farmyard pattern by Boden is spendy but spectacular (plus they do all sorts of discounts if you sign up to their newsletter) and I’ve got my eye on this Summer Days Hotchpotch Dress with matching knickers for the warmer months. Boden baby clothes now go up to age four which means Lottie has been able to buy all sorts of new things for nearly 3 year old Alice. I don’t think she can decide if this a good thing or not (!)
Mothercare
I really rate Mothercare for knitwear, particularly their own brand cardigans. I also love the Little Bird By Jools range – it’s not that often you see such bright primary colours. For Mabel’s 3 days a week at nursery nothing is as hard wearing or as hot-washable as denim so these Turn Up Jeans are on my wish list to pair with this gorgeous Duck T.
Next
My go-to for multi-pack tops, vests and bottoms – excellent value and they wear well. I’ve already bought these character long-sleeved T-shirts and although not strictly animal print related, I couldn’t resist these pineapple print traveller pants. If they made them in my size I so would.
Also, even though she’ll have to grow into it because it starts at age 3……THIS.
Well hello 6:30 post!
Hello fellow early riser!! X
Ha ha ha snap…I was up before 6am this morning, Mabel decided she would like to watch Ben & Holly……..x
Ahhh I need everything on this list, our daughters have very similar wardrobes! Thanks for another great post, though my bank balance doesn’t thank you! I’ll be watching out for the Instagram competition! xx
Ha ha! pleasure 🙂 And the instagram competition is already up – make sure you enter xx
I actually squealed a bit at those dungarees, they are SUPER ADORABLE. Hubs and I have ended up accidentally going for quite an animal/safari theme in baby’s nursery. One of our first ‘big’ holidays together was to Kenya though so it kind of works, and I now want to buy all of the things in this post even though we’re having a boy not a girl – no one can tell for the first year, right?! 😉
Kate the dungarees were from the “boys” section of John Lewis and like with any clothes in here we don’t mean to pinpoint them at any particular gender – whatever works! And these dungarees would look adorable on all littles x
You’re so right, Charlotte – the vast majority of these would work for either sex and look super cute!
Please could you tell where the little blue short sleeve tracksuit is from I may be being daft but I can’t see it listed. The one to the left of the Toucan??
Hi Kristi – that’s from Zara too, I pinched the image from their Look Book page where the associated items are normally clickable from – if that makes sense x
I’m the same Charlotte, Anabelle doesn’t have a thing to wear for spring yet and is rapidly growing out of her current wardrobe.
I’ve just had a 35% off Gap code just pop in my inbox and am eyeing up these adorable culottes in blue http://www.gap.co.uk/browse/product.do?vid=1&pid=000122968000 & Pink http://www.gap.co.uk/browse/product.do?cid=1051752&vid=1&pid=000122991000
Plus I’m also a big fan of this pretty playsuit from Boden http://www.boden.co.uk/en-gb/girls-1h-12yrs-dresses/32697-ldn/girls-1h-12yrs-mid-blue-chambray-spot-pretty-playsuit.html but I think I’ve got a while before she can wears these, especially if we’re due snow!
Uh-Oh Lorna. We got a playsuit exactly like that last year from Boots Mini Club of all places for about £6. I love it so we’ve worn it with a long sleeved navy vest, navy tights and a navy cardigan throughout winter.
I do NEED a LOT from Boden as everywhere else (M & S and Sainsburys I’m looking at YOU) is awful this season but I’m still waiting for their discount code. Anyone had one recently as I’m pretty sure the world must be due one?
Next are winning the nautical race for me this year. And JoJo, which I usually avoid as I think its a bit twee, has some lovely stuff in this season so far. You can’t really go wrong with a spring and summer stripe
Boden always has codes – look on the Boden preview Facebook page ?
I’ve got a Boden one but only for 13% off (random amount!!) J5N5 xxx
Boden has 20% off their mini range, I got an email 2 days ago and when you click through the email it’s all 20% off x
Oh boo angela. I haven’t got that one. Do you know what the code is? It’s normally in your email or shopping basket bit. I only ask as I may be about to do an order. Oops! xx
Love Boots Mini Club too, will have to check out their spring range. Good shout on the tights & long sleeve vest 😉 xxx
Oh No….GAP codes are my downfall…..I LOVE the dresses from there x
Love that boden playsuit Lorna!
My little lady looks great in red and blue, so I love a nautical theme, may have to head over to next.
I may have picked up some bargains in the sainsburys 25% off at lunch time….. including this seahorse print retro swimsuit https://tuclothing.sainsburys.co.uk/tustorefront/STYLE-SS16-PH1-AA-SEAHORSES-50%27S-COSTUME?pagetype=product&productcode=128875754-Pink
Oh my gosh Lou B I LOVE that seahorse retro swimsuit xxx
