I have a serious back to school feeling going on the moment. Most notably because my little Molly started first school this week. It’s been pretty momentous but I’m pleased to report she smashed it. She even got the ‘Star Of The Week‘ award which led to a very proud mummy moment. Molly however was more excited about the chocolate cake reward she got to share with the headmistress. It was “deeeeeelicious”. Alice has also managed her first full day at pre school which was no mean feat. She did have five, yes five, meltdowns in the playground afterwards but we did it!
So as September creeps on I thought I’d share a few things I’m looking forward to this month.
I’m going to be making the most of these last fleeting days of sunshine. Playing out in the garden, trips to the park and a few more ice creams are definitely on the agenda. I love the garden at the moment as it is full of so much yumminess. Apples, raspberries and an abundance of tomatoes await me each day. I may have already made a few too many Apple crumbles!
I’m looking forward to stocking up on some new knitwear as the cooler days draw in. I’m eyeing up this long grey cardigan from M&S but am also on the hunt for a nice chunky jumper. I may already have raided the Mini Boden knitwear section for the girls. Far too much cuteness.
Me time is always in short supply round here but I’ve decided that this month I’m going to treat myself to a nice spa treatment. I’m in serious need of a massage. Lugging Alice around and general motherhood has given me some serious knots. Do you think I can get away with a full spa day? Maybe every month?
I always find I start hunkering down as September arrives and feel the need to get the house all cosy ready for the winter. I fancy a few new cushions and maybe some new lamps in the lounge so am taking inspiration from Lauren’s Autumn purchases over on Rock My Style. I may even get my knitting needles back out and make some new throws to snuggle under.
Finally, the big RMLtd event this month is our very own Adam’s wedding to the lovely Lizzie. It’s going to be super fancy (well what else would you expect from the Creative Director of a wedding blog?). I’m also on wedding cake duty so no pressure. Now to start the dreaded task of finding an outfit. I currently have a stockpile of metallic pleated skirts from Zara which are waiting for the perfect top to help me in my decision making. So far I have not been successful so if anyone has seen any wedding outfits I really must check out then send them my way.
What are you all up to in September? Anything fun planned?
Lottie, I have that grey M&S cardi it’s beautiful BUT it leaves grey fluff on everything (including other items in the wash!) and it bobbles like a good un! Having said that I haven’t found a better shape/style of cardi, the fit is lovely X X X
Oooh, that’s good to know Vicky. Such a shame as it looks so lovely and soft. If it is bobbling I’d perhaps take it back and swap it and see if another is any better. M&S are normally excellent at things like that (I used to work in their customer service in my youth!!!!). xxx
Ha ha I used to work in M&S too! I so miss that staff discount. The first time I bought full price tights I almost cried!
Despite my complaints about the cardi I’m still eyeing up the yellow one…..
The yellow one is lush. That 20% off card was a godsend, especially when there was other offers on. As if I needed any more excuse to go shopping! xxx
I finished work yesterday for my maternity leave – 1st baby is due on 25th September! Off to pick up his pram this morning with my mum & husband, and then off to see one of my best friends and her newborn tomorrow. Very much looking forward to play dates whilst we are both off work. On the star of the week note, my dog goes to doggy daycare (yes, it’s a thing!) and she won the top dog award yesterday after a year of going for “always playing nicely with and making friends with everyone”. Proud mum moment, and I was more excited about Ruby getting that than me finishing work for a year! It still doesn’t feel real that I’m not going back on Monday! X
I hope your doggy got a treat? Excellent skills at playing nicely. And huge congratulations on the forthcoming arrival. So exciting and getting the pram is such a big thing. Enjoy the next few weeks before baby arrives xxx
I’m still eking out summer with a sneaky trip to the Algarve…. But ordered a gorgeous mini Boden cardi (coral with owls on- what’s not to love?!) that’s waiting for Silvia on our return, alongside her 18-24 months wardrobe (mostly from Zara and H and M) including some lovely winter floral leggings. Yay!
Well done Molly- loved her proud little face popping up on Instagram today. Hope you all have a restful and nourishing weekend xx
Oooh, very jealous of you trip. That sounds just perfect. That Cardi is just gorgeous, love it. I keep buying new things for the girls as there is just too much around. Molly was super proud which was so cute to see. Hope you’ve had a great weekend xxx
