One thing I was really keen to buy Hector for his recent birthday was a height chart. In fact as it happened my sister bought one for him instead which I adore and which I’ve also included in the round-up below. Why a height chart you ask?

Well I suppose it came up as a result of looking at lots of photos of Hector in the run up to his birthday. I couldn’t believe just how much he’d grown and (sob!) how suddenly he’d turned from baby into boy. It had all taken place before my very eyes but somehow I’d blinked and I’d missed it. I was determined then to try to record as much as possible going forward both from a pictorial but also from a physical perspective too…Enter the height chart.

All of the height charts in the slider were designs I seriously considered whilst on the hunt for Hector’s measuring device. Some are made from wood, others fabric and then there’s the good old fashioned paper version too. I love them all and hope it might inspire some of you lovely lot to invest in your own too.

Guimo

First up has got to be the ‘Happy Faces‘ height chart from Guimo which my sister purchased for Hector’s second birthday present. It’s so cute! Made from 100% cotton canvas and illustrated by Guimo with lots of cartoonish happy faces that Hector points out every time he walks past, it’s the perfect blue to complement Hector’s dove grey walls.

Cox & Cox

Cox and Cox have a gorgeous vintage inspired off-white tape measure as part of their height chart offering.

Made from sturdy painted MDF with a distressed finish, the life-size wall chart has seven metal bulldog clips secured to the right hand side, which are perfect for clipping up polaroids or photos of your little at that particular height, plus the chart is under £50 too.

Etsy

Granted, the offering from The Real Ruler Co on Etsy is a bit pricier at £75.00 but it does stretch all the way up to a fantastic 6’6″ which means you can keep measuring the kids all the way up until they leave home!

Made from sustainable wood, the height chart takes the form of a old ruler which I think fits perfectly into pretty much any home interior scheme. Available using inches and cm as measurements, the ruler can be personalised making it a gift for all the family.

Not On The High Street

Lovestruck interiors follow a similar vein with their ‘ruler’ offerings too which are available in Mid Oak and in washed white which actually looks more like grey to me.

I love their option of personalising the rulers with a family name which means they can still be enjoyed if further new additions arrive later on. The ‘Kids Rules’ are hand-stained and meticulously hand-stencilled with a faded black paint adding oodles of character to your home. Available in Metric or Imperial measurements, or both depending on your fancy!

Wee Gallery

I actually bought some woodland animal flash cards for Hector from Wee Gallery when he was very small so was really happy to see their safari growth chart at Molly Meg.

Decorated with sweet animal faces screen printed onto organic cotton canvas that has been finished with a leather hanging cord and a fun stylish fringed end, the chart is accompanied by a special keepsake bag with a place for your child’s name and birth date. At £29.00 these would be the perfect new baby gift.

Anny Who

The artist Anny Who has added this super gorgeous illustration of a lion doing a handstand to their height chart which means it’s a great wall feature on its own as well as having the added bonus of being able to record your little one’s growth.

Available at This Modern Life for the grand total of £30.50, the print is made in black and grey on canvas with a black hanging cord. There are also matching lion head cushions too if you’re keen to accessorise.

Time Capsule

We love the simplicity of Time Capsule’s height chart with its geometric patterns which partly reminds me of an ice-cream shop and partly of a pastel hued spacescape. Perfect for modern playrooms or mint and peach bedrooms, the chart features both centimetres and feet so you don’t have to try remember the conversion rates! Measuring from 58cm – 175cm the design comes with a wooden strip and string for easy hanging and it’s under £21 to boot.

Corby Tindersticks

I actually really wanted a Corby Tindersticks height chart for Hector almost a year ago now…in fact it was this one but it was sold out at the time and for a while afterwards so I ended up giving up.

If it’s even possible I think this Mouse inspired design is even cuter. Smaller and niftier than their previous designs the new height chart is 100 x 25cm in size and measures kids up to 120 CM. The chart is printed on high quality paper which can be attached to the walls with blue tack, tape or drawing pins.

If none of these have tickled your fancy and you’re after a bit of comedy then can I suggest this humorous chart which a very close friend of mine has strung up in her kitchen. I’m honestly not sure who has more fun…the kids or the adults.

And lastly one final idea is to make a height chart of your own…at least that way you can guarantee that it will be absolutely unique and completely yours.

Have any of you invested in a height chart for your littles? If so which ones? We’d love to hear all about it in the comments box below.
