If you follow our Rock My Family Instagram account then you’ll have seen a couple of cryptic posts over the weekend suggesting some kind of announcement on the blog this morning. Well, Monday has finally arrived and we’ve got some very very exciting news to share with you.
Today marks the launch of a project that we’ve been working on for a little while now. Something that we’re really very proud of and that we’re hoping you’ll love as much as we do. For those of you that are fans of our sister blog Rock My Wedding then you’ll already be aware of our beautifully curated wedding directory The Love Lust List – a UK and international wedding directory of awesome suppliers handpicked by the multi-award winning RMW team. If you’re getting married and need some help with picking those all important big day suppliers and you haven’t checked it out yet then what are you waiting for? Hop on over to see what it’s all about…after the end of this post of course 😉
When we launched Rock My Family back in 2015 we always envisaged creating an equivalent directory for this blog too. One that provided our readers, be they mums or dads, aunts and uncles, grandparents and parents to be, with a resource of online suppliers whose specialisms range from beautiful yet budget friendly designs through to aspirational products and services. Essentially a valuable and useful supplier directory with universal appeal centred around children and all things kid related at its core. And so today we’re proud to announce that it’s finally here…welcome to… THE LITTLES LIST.
This diverse, online directory has been specially curated by the team behind Rock My Family bringing together a broad range of suppliers handpicked by us. There are eight categories in the directory including Fashion & Boutiques, Paper Pretty, Parties, Mama, Photographers, Toys & Play, Homewares & Interiors and last but no means least the Essentials category. Each of these wonderful suppliers have been tried and tested to our exacting standards so that we can be 100% sure in recommending their services to you.
So without further ado I give you the Littles List. Intrigued? Interested? All you need to do is to follow this link to explore the directory yourselves, find out more and let us know what you think.
Once you’ve arrived, you can choose to refine your searches in the directory, by the individual categories I mentioned above, simply by clicking the relevant tab at the top or select the ‘Filter All’ button to see every single supplier in The Littles List. To find out more about a specific brand or Littles Lister as we like to call them just click the ‘View Full Profile’ button…from there you’ll be able to read about them, see their work and products in a scrolling gallery and contact them for more details should you so wish.
And that’s where I’ll leave you for now…after all I don’t want to reveal too much here for fear of ruining the surprise for you all. Instead I’m going to let you explore The Littles List for yourselves and see what you think. Once you’ve had a look around we’d love to hear your thoughts on the directory, what you’d like to see included, and are there any suppliers you just know would be the perfect fit for The Littles List?
Why not share in the comments box below…
I think The Littles List is a good idea and whilst the list is quite sparse at the moment it should become more useful as more suppliers are added. I certainly looked at the Love-Lust List when planning my wedding. I’ve listed below a few thoughts on the initial directory:
* I would love to see a section of maternity and nursing wear (maybe in Mama or a new section). This is something I really struggle with when pregnant.
* Maybe a support section would also be useful. I understand that the site is generally for retail sites but when I was a new mum I would have welcomed a directory of support websites / providers.
* It would be useful if suppliers featured in all lists that are relevant to them, otherwise you could miss something if just browsing one catergory. For example: Tea & Kate (I think that’s the name) is in the Fashion list but it appears they also sell a lot of Homeware / Interiors. Maybe they should be on both lists?
* I’m not sure if it happens on every list but when I was looking at a particular filtered list, clicked in to read more about a supplier and then clicked ‘back to directory’ it look me back to the unfiltered list again rather than to the filtered list I had been viewing. This isn’t a big deal currently as the entire list is short but would be more annoying when there is a longer list and you rely more on the filters.
This is fantastic feedback Kat so thank you so so much for taking the time to write down all these pointers for us not only from a content but also from a usability point of view as well. Adam – our technical guru and creative director is currently jotting everything you and our other readers have said and will be making the necessary amendments over the course of the next few days and weeks. It’s so nice to hear that you found the Love Lust List useful too xx
Oh well this is just fab. Although I can almost feel the clang of my bank account hitting £0… nice one girls! ???
Thanks doll xxx
Oh this is exciting! (Read: ???)
I’ve found some real gems on Babycinno who have a similar list and while they update regularly, I’ve almost exhausted it now, such is my dedication to shopping. Also love the design / layout.
Can I ask a bit of an awkward a question? Is this list solely based on your recommendations or do the suppliers pay and advertisement fee to be included? I don’t really have an issue either way, I know suppliers won’t make it on there if you lovely lot don’t love their offering so it’s kind of win / win!!
Hi Lynsey – as with the Love Lust List we do ask suppliers to pay an advertisement fee to be included in our directories. That said everyone who appears in The Littles List this morning are brands that we have had personal interactions with; we’ve bought their products and experienced their services first hand so feel that we are able to personally recommend them to you too. Thanks for your lovely comments on the design and layout…that would be the work of Mr Crohill!
Also some of your links don’t work properly – for example when you click on Rory and the bean visit website button it took me to meminio website. I’m sure the work involved it putting this together is immense so little teething issues like this bound to happen! I can’t say I would regularly use this for myself, but there are a few sites on there that I would definitely look at if I’m after a special gift or something particularly nice for my boy xx
Hi Claire – thanks so much for letting us know. Adam is currently testing all the links as we speak…we are experiencing some minor teething issues this morning hence some hiccups but thank you for flagging this up for us anyway. Hopefully it will become a valuable resource even if, as you say it’s just something you pop back to every once in a while.
I think this is a great idea and helpful for when I’m looking for presents for my own or others when looking away from the high street. Certainly agree with the post above about maternity wear too.
Morning Anna, we’ve put this on our list of brands to focus on in the next few weeks so stay tuned xx
This is quite interesting. I have noticed a few more links that are a bit mixed up. Only when you go into the full profile and select visit website. For example the link on little cotton clothes takes you to little beanies so might be worth a little check of all the profiles while the list is fairly small. More location based categories would be helpful for the non retail supplier such as photographers. I will mostly be checking it out for those special gifts as lets face it once you’re away from the high street the budget friendliness is a little harder to achieve and you’re always going to pay extra for something a little different. I’d second the previous comments on maternity/nursing wear and some support providers. Perhaps even pregnancy and post natal fitness/health specialists. There are definitely suppliers I’ve never heard off so will have a little browse later.
Thanks so much for all your feedback Kat…Adam is testing the various links as we speak so we’re hoping that everything will be shipshape very shortly. Thanks also for your thoughts on the location based categories for photographers for example, and the maternity wear angle is something we’ll definitely be looking at in more detail…we envisage it will sit within the Mama category. Stay tuned xxx

Hi Sophie thanks for your comment. Can I ask which contact button you clicked which you mentioned doesn’t work for you? We have tested them all you see and they’re all working for us….Do let us know what web browser you’re using too xx
