Happy Saturday folks. Have you’ve all got a lovely weekend planned? I’ve got a weekend of not a lot planned, oh the excitement. With two snotty nosed children I feel a weekend of pottering and snuggling may be in order. And hopefully some sleep. Quite a lot please.
I hope you’ve all enjoyed sleep week, even if it just reassures you that no other mum is getting any sleep either! To finish off the week I thought I’d share my favourite mobiles with you. You know, just in case they help lull your little one off to the land of nod.
I really struggled to find a mobile I liked. To the point that Molly didn’t have one. Now I can find loads. Typical.
First decision is do you go for music or no music. I preferred to have a little tune as thought it would soothe them but actually preferred the non music one’s in terms of aesthetics.
We ended up with one from Little Bird Told Me purely as I liked the wooden stand it was on. Some others just looked rather ‘plasticy’ to be honest. The quality was lovely and made from gorgeous fabrics with a nice little lullaby.
If you like a non musical one then I am a little bit in love with this CamCamrainbow one from Archie’s Boutique. It is so sweet and the little raindrops would twinkle in the light.
Laura from Rock My Wedding is a big fan of this super pretty Ballerina and Swan princess mobile. Molly would have adored this.
If you fancy a bit of fun then the pom pom mobile from Mamas and Papas is a great option. The muted shades mixed with a bit of monochrome stripe it has a rather modern look which I love.
We love a bargain and this insect one from Ikea is a real steal. Charlotte has bought the Ikea one’s as gifts and say’s they are great.
Finally Bloomingville Mini is one of my current favourite obsessions so this Mushroom mobile just had to make the list. It’s the prettiest pastel shades and in typical scandi wood.
Any favourites you have come across that you’d like to share?
I bought this beautifully overpriced one from The White Company. It creates the most beautiful shadows too! My baby loves to follow it with his eyes and doesn’t seem bored of it one bit.

Oh, that is just a little bit gorgeous xx
This is great timing. I have been wanting a mobile with a woodland theme and was deliberating over the ikea one so now I think I have to buy it!
Thanks!
Tracey
Love the rainbow and mushroom mobiles! We went non music as we weren’t keen on the plastic type ones either. For Freddie we liked a lot of the Flensted mobiles and ended up getting the hot air balloon one which he loved. They are quite delicate but spin on their own in the breeze. Debating whether to get one for baby two and very tempted now……!
The Flensted one’s are just beautiful. Love xx
Agree re trying to avoid the more plastic looking ones! We decorated our son’s nursery with a cloud and raindrops theme so went with this mobile from John Lewis https://m.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-baby-cloud-and-stars-mobile-grey/p/2459632
Love that one Nicky. It was in my list to make it in to this post then Charlotte sneaked in the Ikea one instead. xx
A cot mobile was the first thing we bought. It’s from a fair-trade shop in Nepal (where I’ve worked for many years). It’s made of colourful felt owls and we adore it. You can buy similar stuff online, but for us it was so lovely to have a mobile that genuinely meant something to us.

I didn’t get one for number one but contemplating for number two. Are they an essential item do you think?
Sleep week was awesome, thank you very much! I am so sorry I just got to comment now. Due to the lack of sleep (the irony!) and a snotty baby, I didn’t have the chance before.
Anyway this themed week was great and I enjoyed every bit of it!
I couldn’t find a mobile i loved anywhere (in the UK or didn’t want to charge ££ for delivery) so I made my own and I adore it. A simple hoop with rainbow coloured felt balls – it looks so brilliant and my baby adores staring at! I’ve had so many comments I’m thinking of selling some. 🙂
