I follow Tim on instagram, I LOVE his beautiful candid images of his daughter Nellie, his wedding photography isn’t too shabby either.
I decided that his adventures in fatherhood were simply too good not to share, so he’s kindly offered to tell us a bit about his role as a daddy and has supplied a gallery full of make-your-Thursday-that-little-bit-lovelier pictures of happiness and joy. You’re welcome.
Tim: I’m Tim, a wedding and family photographer in Leeds where I live with my other half Jude and our daughter Nellie (AKA Nellie Noodle).
Ever since Jude went back to work part time and Nellie started nursery we decided that as Jude works a full day on Monday I’d not work and it’d be a day for me and Nellie to go adventuring, which Nellie quickly decided to call Daddy Day.
It’s great fun to get up in the morning and wave Jude off to work and then let Nellie decide the plan for the day. “I want to see a castle” “I want to go on a train to see the countryside” “It’s too rainy here, let’s go to Manchester it doesn’t rain there” – Incredibly on that day we did, and it was a gorgeous sunny day in Manchester!
Having decided one morning she wanted to go to Ilkley for a walk up to the Cow & Calf rocks, she then had us get off the train two stops before as she “didn’t know what we did there”. Having quickly established that Burley-in-Wharfedale was very pretty but not terribly exciting for a three year old she reverted to plan A, but rather than getting back on a train she wanted to walk. Having stopped a local to ask the way and agreed that yes, it was a long way, and yes, we knew there was a train we set off over the moors. After an hour or two of walking, having spent a while on a rope swing we found on the way, we spotted a remote retirement village, with what looked like a cafe. Nellie insisted we investigate. When we established it was in fact a cafe open to visitors she asked for “a scone with jam, some orange juice, and you should have a beer daddy, it’s a lovely day”. It was, and I did!
I know every parent thinks their child grows up too fast, and starting school is an exciting time, but I’m really going to miss our Daddy days when she starts in September.

Wow, so precious. I’m a nurse & have to work some weekend shifts so my husband & little boy have regular ‘Daddy days’! Its always absolute chaos when i get home, but I think it’s so special. Although I think Ted sometimes finds ‘mummy days’ slightly boring in comparison 🙂 Xxx

Love everything about this. I may start introducing more Daddy Days. You will just never get the time back will you. Precious.
Ahhhh I love this post. Big heart eyes and cherries on top. Tim’s photos are beautiful and are the type I aspire to take of Hector but they don’t quite turn out that way. Daddy days are the best and I know that Hector adores them when he gets to spend them with Ste. Like Jenna says about her husband and Ted, time spent together is chaos and you can guarantee that the house looks like it’s been burgled when I get home but I just know that they’ve had the best time together and made precious memories for the future.
Maybe I’m just a 5 months preggo hormonal mess but totally tearing up at work having had a sneaky look at these photos. Beautiful Daddy – daughter bond and something I hope my husband (also a wedding photographer) can aspire to achieve with our little babba whether boy or girl in the future.
Yep. Pass the tissues over here too.
These are amazing. What a cutie!!
Oh my goodness! Those pictures though… ?
So lovely and I wish I could take these kind of gorgeous photos. My husband loves daddy days, and I get some rest or a bit of grown up time. Win for everyone!
Gorgeous girl and those photos are so special, so natural. I absolutely adore his photography! And those Daddy Days sound incredibly special. Myself, I don’t want to think about going back to work when our little boy turns one (currently three months), because I’ll have to work 24h shifts several times a month. My husband will be great at those Daddy days, bit I’ll miss them!
