If you read our sister blog, Rock My Style, then you’ll already be aware that we’re showcasing the rest of Jennifer’s beautiful home over on the site today. We felt it was only fair to provide you lovely lot with a spot of inspiration for your own littles’ rooms by sharing the bedrooms of Jennifer’s children – Zachary and Skyler – on Rock My Family too.
Interestingly Jennifer’s house is a rented property which obviously comes with its own set of restrictions on how much she is able to decorate her home and of course Skyler and Zachary’s personal spaces. But such restrictions don’t seem to have held her back; both bedrooms are wonderfully calming spaces filled with personality whilst retaining a sense of the individuality of each child. I for one love them….
Let’s take a look.
Children’s Bedrooms
I wanted to create a space that would grow with them so I kept everything quite simple. We made feature walls using decals which provided inspiration for the colour schemes. Their curtains are from the Natural Curtain Company and I had them lined and interlined to make their rooms extra cosy in the cooler months. Their pendant lights are from Dowsing and Reynolds, except the shade in Zach’s bedroom which is from Mamas & Papas. They each have a personalised fabric storage bag from My 1st Years which are super cute. Storage is essential for housing the multitude of toys they manage to accumulate. They have a variety of storage baskets between them which we purchased from John Lewis, Great Little Trading Co, Ikea, Vertbaudet and Uashmama.
Zach’s Room – His tipi is by Little Nomad which we purchased from Emi & Nell. The Peter Rabbit print was commissioned by a family friend. The flag hanging next to his bed is from Ferm Living. The super bear and stars felt garland I purchased on Etsy from a shop called Yumi and the Boys (Skyler’s flamingo and heart garland is also from here).
Skyler’s Room – The letters on her door, cloud cushion, flower pot and gold metal basket are all from the Scandinavian Design Center. Her lamp is from HomeSense. The ‘fierce’ print on the wall was from an online boutique that has now closed (I think you can get similar on Etsy) and the ‘mum and girl in Winter’ print is from Emi & Nell. The cloud garland is from The White Co. and the grey felt moon is from Feral Hearts.
Aren’t they gorgeous. Two completely individual rooms but both using a simple all-white colour scheme as a canvas on which to add lots of beautiful details. I love the dotty decals in Skyler’s room and I’ll certainly be taking inspiration from Zachary’s room for Hector’s space in our new house. If you wanted to check out the rest of Jennifer’s beautiful home pop on over to Rock My Style to see more.
Lolly is happiest when she is surrounded by her two boys, husband Ste and two year old Hector, a pile of Maltesers and a mountain of the prettiest blooms. She won’t say no to an espresso Martini either…

I think this is may fave nursery/bedroom feature so far… I’m pretty sure I love every single thing.
Although, I often wonder how our home house (or as you lot call it, forever home) will look in a few years time as I love all things pale and interesting. My husband’s response is often, “can we have some colour?”. I’ve got a few years to work on him!
Hope I’m not the only one dealing with taste mismatches/challenges in decorating with my partner ?
Naomi my husband is a mare when it comes to decorating. When we were doing our kitchen I couldn’t decide between grey or sage green unit so Edd suggested both. I thought he meant bottom cupboards one colour, wall cupboards the other. But no. He meant actually alternating one grey, one green. Could you imagine?! I recently declared that the lounge needed repainting partly as I was bored and partly as it is a bit grubby to which he replied ‘that’s fine so long as it’s the same colour’!!! xx

Interesting Naomi it’s the other way round for us. Ste is a white on white kinda man but I’ve started to veer towards some colour in our house with plans for greens, greys and maybe even blue. I’m equally working on him! But Zachary and Skyler’s rooms are persuading me in his direction….

Ahh thanks Naomi. I used to think it was annoying that my husband didn’t show any interest in home decor but I’ve discovered it’s actually a blessing in disguise. You could compromise by keeping the walls pale and introducing colour with furnishings etc. xx
Such an appropriate post as I am 20 weeks pregnant and starting to look at ideas for our nursery! I love both of these! Can I ask where Zachary’s wardrobe is from Jennifer?

Thank you Jenna. Such an exciting time for you. His wardrobe is from Ikea. All the best with your pregnancy xx
Yeeeeeessss for once I’m on trend – I spy a few things I’ve done in Ophelias nursery. I’ve just ordered the flamingo bunting (totes bargain for handmade!) these rooms are just lovely and just goes to show you can have your own impact on a rented home.

So beautiful! I am desperate to buy my little girl a teepee, off to Emi & Nell now!
Ps Skyler is such a lovely name, I tried convincing my husband but he was having none of it… Still on my list though should we have a second!

Thanks so much Annie. They’re gorgeous aren’t they and so magical at night for story time.
It can be so infuriating when you love a name and your husband just doesn’t. Fortunately, in the end, we both fell in love with the same name choice! I’m fairly certain being the person giving birth gives you slightly more pull in the name decision department xx

HA! my brother in law is colour blind quiet badly so my sister has had the pleasure of painting the living room blush pink! So unfair!
Love the flamingo garland ?
It’s so cute isn’t it Lynsey xx
Thanks Lynsey, Lydia who makes them is so lovely too xx
I LOVE these rooms. They are so achievable too.

Loving the gold polka dots and the lamp in Skyler’s room! Unfortunately we aren’t anywhere near a HomeSense, boo!
Thanks lovely xx

I’ve got the same wardrobe and we changed the knobs (oo-er) totally changes how it fits in the room. New knobs are more substantial….. (Double oo-er)
Substantial knobs ftw ?
Thanks Jennifer 🙂 x

Gorgeous nursery. I <3 the starry box-shelf thing on the wall where you've got your cuddly toys. Did you buy that online? x
Thanks Siobhan, yes I bought it from Great Little Trading Co. I think they make them in different colours now too xx
Is the train set by brio or a different make?
It’s Brio, we bought it from Winstanleys Pramworld online because they had a 50% off sale. I’m sure they still have some sets at sale price xx
The wallpaper in each room is fantastic. Where did you get them from? It’s really hard to find such lovely paper.
Looks great – may I ask where you got the cube storage unit in Skyler’s room. I’m after something very similar!
Hi
Loving all the kids rooms and wallpaper, can I ask where the wallpaper is from?
Thanks
